Mastering Musculoskeletal Injections

Orthopedic pain due to acute injury or overuse are very common. Treatment of these injuries if delayed can lead to ongoing pain, poor quality of life and worse outcomes for the patient. PAs in multiple specialties benefit when they have confidence in managing common orthopedic injuries. This workshop is intended to provide a review of common arthrocentesis approaches as well as hands-on training on these techniques.

  1. Learning Objectives
  • To become more confident with musculoskeletal anatomy.
  • To recognized when musculoskeletal injections may be beneficial.
  • To become more confident performing musculoskeletal injections.

Learning Outcomes

  • PAs will be refreshed on their anatomy leading to more accurate diagnosis.
  • PAs will feel more comfortable providing and array or musculoskeletal injections.
  • Non-orthopedic specialty PAs will be more confident in managing common orthopedic injuries and ailments.
