CAPA Leadership

CAPA Officers

President: The President serves as the chairman of the CAPA Board of Directors and Executive Committee. In addition to appointing all of the CAPA committee chairs and supporting the work of the committees as an ex-officio member, the President works closely with the Executive Director and Executive Committee to make important operational decisions and represent CAPA in public affairs. If necessary, the President also acts as an Alternate Delegate at the AAPA House of Delegates.

President-Elect: The President-Elect is a member of the Executive Committee ad ex-officio member of all CAPA committees. During their term, they will chair the Nominating Committee and execute any special assignments as appointed by the President. At the conclusion of their term, the President-Elect will assume the office of CAPA President. If necessary, the President-Elect also acts as an Alternate Delegate at the AAPA House of Delegates.

Vice President: The Vice President is a member of the Executive Committee and ex-officio member of the all CAPA committees. They may execute any special assignments as appointed by the President and represent or act on behalf of CAPA in the absence of the president. If necessary, the Vice-President also acts as an Alternate Delegate at the AAPA House of Delegates.

Secretary: The Secretary signs off on all Board meeting minutes and is an ex-officio member of all CAPA committees. They may execute any special assignments as appointed by the President. If necessary, the Secretary also acts as an Alternate Delegate at the AAPA House of Delegates

Treasurer: The Treasurer oversees the financial health of CAPA by chairing the Finance Committee and working with the Executive Director and the CAPA Board to keep CAPA financially sustainable. They may execute special assignments as appointed by the President. If necessary, the Treasurer also acts as an Alternate Delegate at the AAPA House of Delegates.

Director-At-Large: Directors-At-Large are members of the CAPA Board of Directors and are tasked with making governance and financial decisions on behalf of the organization. Each director may be assigned special projects by the President. If necessary, every director-at-large may act as an Alternate Delegate at the AAPA House of Delegates.

Student Director

The CAPA Board Student Director serves on the CAPA Board as the voice of PA students. During their term, they will chair the Student Affairs Sub-Committee and provide the CAPA Board with the student perspective in governance and decision-making. The CAPA Student Director may be assigned special projects by the President. Please note that you must be a Student member to be the CAPA Student Director.

Delegate to the AAPA House of Delegates

Delegates are responsible for enacting policies that establish the collective values, philosophies, and principles of the PA profession at AAPA's House of Delegates (HOD) every year. There are 10 delegate positions available. Delegates are privileged with making recommendations to the AAPA Board of Directors, submitting resolutions at the HOD, participating in reference committee hearings at the HOD, or volunteering on a reference committee.
