PA Practice Act, California Business and Professions (B&P) Code

Article 1- General Provisions 

This article contains the laws in the PA Practice Act defining day-to-day practice in California. B&P Code § 3500 – 3503.5
 
  1. Introduction and Terminology 

Describes the purpose of the PA Practice Act to utilize the skills of PAs to encourage the use of PAs in the more effective provision of healthcare services.

This chapter shall be known and cited as the PA Practice Act.

Describes the terminology used in the PA Practice Act with definitions of language found in the Act.
 

    2. Drug Orders, Controlled Substances and DEA Registration Discusses drug orders and furnishing along with the requirement for DEA registration for PAs who issue drug orders for controlled substances.
