The CAPACareers Expo is a professional launchpad for early career PAs, PAs seeking lateral mobility, and PA students ready to get a head start in their profession. 2026 Lecture Topics

Financial Planning for PAs

This lecture will provide an overview of financial literacy for PA students and professionals, focusing on foundational financial planning concepts to support long-term financial wellness. Attendees will learn about budgeting, managing income and expenses, taxes, retirement planning, insurance considerations, investing, and other key strategies for building a strong financial foundation.

Contracts, Negotiations & Understanding the Business of PA Practice

This lecture will explore the business side of healthcare, including contract negotiation, professional advocacy, and strategies for evaluating work/life balance. Attendees will also gain insight into healthcare economics, reimbursement models such as Medicare and Medicaid, revenue structures, California Business & Professions code, and how different operational systems, including Kaiser, private practice, and Title 22 settings, impact clinical practice and career opportunities.

California PA schools graduate approximately 1,400 new PAs and accept another 1,600 students yearly. Among practicing PAs, about 7% change specialties in any given year. These laterally mobile PAs, student cohorts, and early career PAs are eager to jumpstart in their profession and see what practice setting or other options are most appropriate for their skills and interests.

The CAPACareers Expo allows practices, advanced education and training programs, and healthcare business providers to reach fresh and experienced clinical talent.
