While CAPA membership dues remain non-refundable, we understand that last-minute changes happen, especially with event registrations. If you request a refund during the specified refund request period, please be aware that a credit card administrative fee of 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction will be deducted from your refund amount to cover the processing fees incurred by our payment gateway provider. Last day to request a refund will be September 24, 2025.
Injecting Safety into Beauty: Neuromodulators in Aesthetic Medicine Workshop (2.0 CME)

The art of Aesthetic Medicine is relatively new compared to all other areas of medicine. These treatments are not part of the curriculum of any PA program. With growing numbers of PA’s entering the area of Aesthetic Medicine, it is imperative to have courses and hands on training available to provide the utmost safety in patient care. This course will educate PA’s on safety and technique involving neuromodulator injections, leading to a safer and appropriate outcome for patients.
Learning Objectives:
- The 6 FDA approved neuromodulators currently approved in the United States and where they are utilized on the face
- The physiological function of a neuromodulator and its role in wrinkle reduction
- Injection anatomy, injection safety and proper placement for optimal results

PA’s in many specialties including primary care need to understand the importance of joint injections and aspirations. In addition to understanding the risks and benefits of these injections and aspirations, it is just as important to understand how to properly administer these procedures.

Fairplex Presents Oktoberfest
Dust off your lederhosen and dirndls because it’s that time of year. Oktoberfest returns to Fairplex with all the bier and brez’n to make this the perfect fest! Fairplex Presents Oktoberfest is in its 10th year celebrating Bavarian music, authentic German food and Der Ententanz (the Chicken Dance). With the addition of games and prizes, tribute bands and a live DJ, Oktoberfest is a month-long celebration that brings a drop of Germany to Los Angeles County. It’s a night of good grub, dancing and cold beers.

RailGiants Train Museum
RailGiants Train Museum at the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds in Pomona, California is a historical journey back to the glory days of the American Railroad. Our Museum houses some of the country’s most well-preserved locomotives, which includes several sole survivors of their respective classes. Our RailGiants collection contains two of the four surviving 3-Cylinder steam locomotives; SP #5021 and UP #9000. The largest diesel locomotive, a Union Pacific “Centennial,” is also here. In addition to our locomotives, we have various pieces of Rolling Stock (freight and passenger cars), our historic Arcadia Depot, Library Archives, and Gift Shop.
We are open free to the public during the second weekend of each month. Ample parking is available.

Pomona Swap Meet & Classic Car Show, Oct. 2025
The Pomona Swap Meet & Classic Car Show is held seven times per year. At each event, you will find hundreds of vendors in over 2,000 vendor spaces selling tons of hard to find car parts and accessories at low swap meet prices. Thousands of original and restored classic vehicles will be on display and for sale in six specialized Car Corral sections: Pre 1995 Classics (any year Camaro, Challenger, Mustang), any year Corvettes and any year Porsches, Pre 1959 Street Rods, Pre 1995 Volkswagens and Pre 1995 Imports. Since 1975, millions of automotive enthusiasts have come to Pomona from across the nation and around the world to find car parts, accessories, automobilia, customs and classics. Make plans to participate in our next event! Come to buy, come to sell, come to look!
General admission is $15, cash only. Children 12 and under are admitted FREE.

Fairplex Garden Railroad
The Fairplex Garden Railroad is open to the public on the second Sunday of each month from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (weather permitting). This is a great opportunity to see the features of the railroad at your own pace. Docents will be available to answer questions.

Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Fest
Cal Poly Pomona's Huntley College of Agriculture started the Pumpkin Festival more than 30 years ago. What began as a humble patch by the side of the road where visitors could cut their own pumpkins off the vine has grown into a month-long series of events and activities in October. The festival has become hugely popular, drawing thousands of visitors to pick pumpkins from a patch near the Farm Store. As many as 120,000 visitors have come during October, making it one of the largest events in the entire California State University system.

On Saturday, October 11th, CAPA will host its annual Student Challenge Bowl which brings together California PA programs in a medical trivia competition to compete for the prestigious title.
As in previous years, each PA school will assign a Team Captain and two other Team Members to represent their schools. Teams will face off against each other, two at a time in bracket format, culminating in a final winner.
Conference attendees, friends, and family are all welcome and encouraged to show their support for the students and the PA schools as they compete on Saturday evening!
