The Symptomatic Sacroiliac Joint: Clinical Examination, Diagnosis and Treatment

Dysfunction in the sacroiliac (SI) joint is sometimes the cause of lower back and/or leg pain. However, SI joint dysfunction can be particularly difficult to differentiate from sciatica, because they feel very similar. For decades, the SI joint was suspected as the cause of low back and leg pain, but difficulty in accurate diagnostic testing prevented suspicions from being a certainty. Today, it is estimated that the SI joint is responsible for 15-30% of lower back pain cases.

During a complimentary dinner, sponsored by SI-Bone, participants will learn the latest research about this commonly under-diagnosed cause of low back pain. PA Brian Zerlaut will review anatomy, causes and symptoms of SI joint dysfunction, diagnosis, and treatment options - both non-surgical and surgical.
