Director of Didactic Education/Principal Faculty
Drury University is seeking to hire the Director of Didactic Education for the developing Physician Assistant Program slated to begin in the Fall of 2023.  This position offers the opportunity to work from home until January 2023.
 
The Director of Didactic Education will be student-centered and have a passion for developing a dynamic didactic program.  We are seeking an individual who loves educating students, enjoys the educational process, and works well in a team-oriented environment. 
 
You will be responsible for oversight of all aspects of the didactic phase of the physician assistant program, and provide effective leadership toward meeting program and student learning outcomes.  As the Director of Didactic Education, you will work to ensure the program‘s didactic phase follows all ARC-PA accreditation standards pertaining to didactic training.
 
Position will remain open until filled.

Responsibilities will include and are not limited to
  • Creating and developing a dynamic curriculum for the academic year
  • Preparing syllabi consistent with the program mission
  • Directing didactic program delivery which includes creating and maintaining the didactic year schedule
  • Course coordination and classroom teaching
  • Working with faculty to ensure compliance with educational objectives and academic rigor
  • Recruiting and scheduling of adjunct faculty for didactic courses
  • Directing and leading test preparation and examination delivery
  • Advising student academic and professional development
  • Assisting with data collection and analysis to support the ARC-PA self-assessment
  • Assisting in the continuous review and compliance of the ARC-PA accreditation process
  • Serving on committees such as the curriculum committee and academic performance committee
  • Participating in the admissions process

Requirements
  • Master’s degree as a Physician Assistant from an ARC-PA accredited program
  • Current NCCPA Certification
  • Eligible for Missouri state licensure as a PA
  • Three (3) years academic experience (preferred)
  • 3 - 5 years clinical experience (required).
  • Experience in PA/medical classroom teaching
  • Experience in PA education administration highly (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with student and staff populations.
 Clinical practice time is encouraged.
