CAPA opposes the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. An individual's right to access the full range of reproductive services has always been at the heart of healthcare. This reversal of the basic human right to choose is a step backward in overall healthcare rights. The ruling will not end abortion, as it intended. It will only end safe abortions and disproportionately create additional barriers to reproductive care, especially for people of color, the low income, and other marginalized individuals.

Here in California, we are fortunate in that we PAs, and other healthcare providers, are still able to provide all necessary reproductive health services to the full extent of state law. CAPA remains committed in providing resources and supporting PAs so that their patients can continue to access reproductive services, including abortion. Reproductive rights are human rights, and abortion is healthcare.
