There is a lot I love about PAs. I have been with CAPA a long time and I never tire and never stop being inspired by all of you; by what you do and how you work together to accomplish great things. Last year we honored your relationship with your supervising physicians with the Teaming With Pride Project. It took on a life of its own, fueled by your participation and enthusiasm. Thanks to hundreds of you, we created a one-of-a-kind photographic display of all things wonderful about team practice. It was truly awesome. PAs are awesome and we want to now harness that same energy and excitement to highlight, recognize and honor PAs who have made an impact on your life – personally and/or professionally.

We want you to tell us the story of how a PA colleague has touched your life.

I spend a lot of time with PAs and I always love to hear the great stories about PAs helping other PAs. It is one of the very best parts of the CAPA Community! Just a few
examples I have heard through the years…

  • The PA who allowed the think they wannabe PA to shadow them.
  • The PA who did their knee surgery or who saw them in the ER and in
so doing, inspired them to look into becoming a PA.
  • The PA who made a huge impact on their PA colleague by connecting a
pregnant teenage mom wanting to give up her baby for adoption with a PA
    who desperately wanted to adopt.
  • PAs who helped to find specialists for another PAs’ family members or helped
to find a PA when a relative moves to a new town.
  • The PAs who helped their PA colleague find the job of their dreams.
  • The study partners from PA school who worked hard to help you get through
the class you never thought you’d get through.
  • The PA faculty member who was always just a phone call away and/or the one who interviewed you and took a chance on you.

The good news is that there are thousands of instances where PAs help their PA colleagues. What you do may seem incidental but in the lives of those you touch, those things will be remembered. Sometimes we don’t have the opportunity or forget to tell the person that all these years later, we still remember that small or large act of kindness.

We are giving you that chance. Along the walls at the Palm Springs Convention Center and in future issues of the CAPA News, we will be highlighting those PAs who you tell us about. We simply need their name, your name and the brief story. Email us at capa@capanet.org.

This is a much easier task than Teaming With Pride was. The hard part on this one will be keeping your submission under 50 words. You can do it though! It is worth it.
