Learning Objective:
This workshop will utilize an interactive multimedia software package that allows participants, wearing individual headphones, to review a variety of cardiac sounds. The opening portion of the session will include listening to the cardiac cycle, sound skills, timing, and physiologic causes for variations of sounds and murmurs. In the second half, participants will review actual patient scenarios with analysis of sounds to determine diagnosis. This session utilizes the software created by Dr. J. Michael Criley of UCLA, “Beyond Heart Sounds” and “The Physiology of Heart Sounds and Murmurs”Supported by an  unrestricted educational grant from Littmann Stethoscopes, a product of 3M Healthcare.
