Two important Team Practice Advancements with this course:

Elimination of Advance Approval requirements for controlled substances
Cosignature reduction for medical records involving Schedule II medications

Effective January 1, 2016, as a result of CAPA’s sponsored legislation, SB 337, California law establishes a mechanism to reduce cosignatures for the medical records when Schedule II controlled substances have been issued from 100% down to 20% when PAs hold a certificate of completion from an education course that meets the requirements in Sections 1399.610 and 1399.612 of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations.  The SP shall review, countersign and date the medical records within 7 days.

Effective January 1, 2008, as a result of CAPA’s sponsored legislation, AB 3, California law establishes a mechanism for a PA to administer, provide, or issue a drug order for Schedule II through V controlled substances without patient specific advanced approval if the PA holds a certificate of completion from an education course that meets the requirements in Sections 1399.610 and 1399.612 of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations.
