Learning Objectives:

The participants will be able to:
1) Discuss how developments in genomics are shifting clinicians’ understanding of the role that genetic factors play in the expression of disease
2) Understand why PAs and other primary care providers are well positioned to care for patients with risks for genetic diseases
3) Identify the clinical competencies in genetics and genomics for PAs, including knowledge, skills, and attitudes
4) Demonstrate an ability to gather a family history and then draw a three generation pedigree that provides pertinent health information for each closely related relative
5) Identify online genetic resources that are credible, relevant and current
